Pa. Lawmaker Blasts EPA Approval Of Fracking Waste Well

Law360, Philadelphia (February 13, 2014, 3:32 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania state lawmaker on Wednesday slammed a decision by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency giving final approval to a plan to drill an underground injection well in the state’s northwest corner to dispose of hydraulic fracturing waste fluids.

Rep. Matt Gabler, R-Clearfield, said that federal regulators had failed to adequately consider the health and wellbeing of nearby residents in Clearfield County when they signed off on permits allowing Windfall Oil & Gas Inc. drill the well.
