Congressmen Urge Obama To Fix Marijuana Tax Debacle

Law360, New York (February 13, 2014, 4:37 PM EST) -- A group of 17 congressmen called on the Obama administration Wednesday to remove marijuana from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, saying this would free individuals and businesses from draconian policies and unfair federal tax laws.

The congressmen wrote a letter to President Barack Obama after he discussed his openness to changing federal marijuana policy in light of shifting public opinion in a January interview, the president's first public statements on the matter, according to the lawmakers.
