Fla. Supreme Court Clarifies Speedy Trial Recapture Rule

Law360, Miami (February 13, 2014, 8:12 PM EST) -- The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday reversed a ruling that prosecutors have a 15-day recapture period after the deadline for a speedy trial has passed to bring a defendant to trial, determining that under the language of the speedy trial rule, the recapture window is two separate five- and 10-day time periods.
