Pa. Rep. Seeks To Boost Limits For Magistrate Court Cases

Law360, Philadelphia (February 18, 2014, 4:05 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania state representative announced Friday that he intends to introduce legislation raising the dollar limit for civil claims that can be heard in magisterial courts, a move that could reduce congestion in the state's courts of common pleas.

Rep. Duane Milne, R-Chester, said in a memorandum seeking co-sponsorship that his proposed bill would raise the jurisdictional limit for cases heard by magisterial district justices from $12,000 to $20,000.
