CPSC Proposal Set To Expand Company Disclosures

Law360, New York (February 25, 2014, 5:45 PM EST) -- Regulated industry and practitioners should be aware that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has proposed to reduce longstanding regulatory procedures the agency is required to adhere to prior to publicly disclosing information concerning companies and their products. The stated intent is to apply only the bare minimum that is required by statute. Whether the proposal goes too far under the law and good policy will now be debated publicly during the public comment period.
