Acacia Licences Disputed Monitoring Patents

Law360, New York (March 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A subsidiary of patent-holding company Acacia Research Corp. has reached settlement agreements with five defendants accused of infringing Acacia's patents for rule-based monitoring technology used in computer systems.

Acacia announced Wednesday that its subsidiary Diagnostic Systems Corp. had entered into license agreements with SAS Institute Inc., Quest Software Inc., Aspen Technology Inc., BMC Software Inc., and F-Secure Inc. for the technology. The company did not disclose additional terms of the settlements.
