Brookdale Senior Living Inks $2.8B Deal For Emeritus

Law360, New York (February 21, 2014, 12:13 PM EST) -- Tennessee-based nursing home owner and operator Brookdale Senior Living Inc. will buy Emeritus Corp. in a stock and debt deal worth $2.8 billion, creating a major comprehensive senior living firm, the companies said Thursday. 

The deal, which includes Brookdale stock and the inclusion of $1.4 billion in Emeritus mortgage debt, will result in what the companies say will be the "first national senior living solutions company" in the United States.
