Atlas Rips DEP Findings On Western Pa. Frack Site

Law360, Philadelphia (February 21, 2014, 5:22 PM EST) -- Natural gas producer Atlas Resources LP on Thursday attacked the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s conclusions that fracking water was spilled and gas wells were leaking on a Washington County drilling site, arguing there was no evidence for its findings.

In an appeal filed with the state’s Environmental Hearing Board, the company ripped a January letter written by the DEP about the southwestern Pennsylvania site, in which the agency requested that the company step up monitoring efforts to pave the way for future remediation.
