EU Plugs S. America Trade Talks Amid Brazil Summit

Law360, New York (February 24, 2014, 3:24 PM EST) -- The European Union is committed to moving forward with a potential trade agreement with a bloc of South American countries, EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said Monday during a summit with his Brazilian counterpart.

In remarks at a summit with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff summit, held Monday in Brussels, Barroso said the EU was intent on strengthening its trade ties with Brazil, in part through a potential association pact with Mercosur, a bloc of South American economies that includes Brazil.
