Crown, Mivisa Offer EU Antitrust Fixes On $1.65B Merger

Law360, New York (February 24, 2014, 4:51 PM EST) -- Consumer goods packager Crown Holdings Inc. and private equity-owned Mivisa Envases SAU, Spain's largest producer of tin packaging, made a set of proposed commitments to the European Union's antitrust regulator on Friday, in a bid to obtain approval for their €1.2 billion ($1.65 billion) merger, the commission said.

In a notice posted online, the European Commission announced it had received a series of potential concessions designed to allay competition concerns over Mivisa’s acquisition by Philadelphia-based Crown, which derives slightly less than 40 percent of its revenue...
