Expiration Dates Could Be New Normal For Natural Gas Plants

Law360, New York (February 26, 2014, 4:44 PM EST) -- A natural gas power plant permit recently issued by Massachusetts takes the unusual step of requiring the facility to gradually reduce carbon dioxide emissions and shut down entirely by 2050, an approach experts expect will become much more common amid long-term climate worries about natural gas.

President Barack Obama has labeled natural gas a "bridge fuel" that is a cleaner alternative to dirtier fossil fuels like coal while the country transitions to renewable sources, but the size and length of the metaphorical bridge is still unclear....
