Insurance Implications From Unrest In Ukraine

Law360, New York (February 25, 2014, 5:57 PM EST) -- On Nov. 21, 2013, Ukrainian protesters gathered in central Kiev to demand the resignation of their President, Viktor Yanukovich, following his decision not to sign a free trade agreement with the European Union. Deadlock ensued. Matters grew increasingly violent, culminating in the week of Feb.17 in which police snipers fired upon the protestors and 88 deaths occurred.

By Feb. 24, 2014, Yanukovich reportedly fled Kiev for eastern Ukraine. Parliament has appointed an interim president and issued a warrant for his arrest. The protestors have been labeled as "rebels"...
