House Passes Taxpayer Bill of Rights Measures

Law360, New York (February 25, 2014, 7:45 PM EST) -- Two bills written in response to proposed IRS regulations to limit the political activity of nonprofit groups were passed in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives on Tuesday night.

The duo are part of a larger series of proposals dubbed by Republicans as “The Taxpayer Bill of Rights” because they are designed to prevent the Internal Revenue Service from overstepping its boundaries.
