Asbestos Attys Fight CSX's Racketeering Claims In 4th Circ.

Law360, New York (February 26, 2014, 4:37 PM EST) -- The lawyers who were hit with $1.3 million in damages in a racketeering suit brought by CSX Transportation Inc. told the Fourth Circuit Tuesday that the transportation company had only sued them as a strategy to attack them for bringing asbestos injury suits on behalf of its employees.

In a brief filed to the Fourth Circuit, lawyers Robert Peirce and Louis Raimond, both previously of the defunct Pittsburgh law firm Peirce Raimond & Coulter PC, argue that CSX sued them only to crush lawsuits the attorneys...
