Archer Daniels Becomes Latest To Sue Railroads

Law360, New York (March 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Archer Daniels Midland, one of the world's largest agribusiness companies and a major customer of U.S. railroads, has joined the ranks of plaintiffs alleging the five big railroads have violated antitrust laws by engaging in a price-fixing scheme to set fuel surcharges.

Decatur, Ill.-based ADM filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota against Union Pacific Railroad Co., BNSF Railway Co., CSX Transportation Inc., Norfolk Southern Railway Co. and Kansas City Southern Railway Co.
