Edward Jones To Pay Up For Unsolicited Phone Calls

Law360, New York (February 26, 2014, 7:11 PM EST) -- Investment firm Edward D. Jones & Co. LP will pay $750,000 to settle claims that it made unsolicited telephone calls to people on the National Do Not Call Registry, one of the largest settlements ever paid by a securities firm for telecommunications violations, a New Hampshire regulator said Wednesday.

The New Hampshire Bureau of Securities Regulation determined that Edward Jones, which has 58 branch offices in the state, violated telephone solicitation laws when making calls to state residents on the registry, according to a release....
