Kluger Peretz Aided $130M Ponzi Scheme, 11th Circ. Hears

Law360, Miami (February 28, 2014, 7:39 PM EST) -- Cordell Consultants Inc. on Friday asked the Eleventh Circuit to revive its fraud suit accusing Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin PL and four of its attorneys of helping Edward Okun perpetuate his $130 million Ponzi scheme.

In oral arguments in Miami, Cordell's attorney Irwin Gilbert of Gilbert Yarnell told the appeals court panel that the attorneys knew Okun's company was insolvent and that he could not pay back a $7 million loan from Cordell.
