Chesapeake Reaps $520M In Sale Of Gas Compression Units

Law360, New York (February 28, 2014, 1:54 PM EST) -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. said Friday it would sell more than 430 natural gas compression units to midstream master limited partnerships Exterran Partners LP and Access Midstream Partners LP in two separate deals worth a combined $520 million.

Exterran, which focuses on gas contracting services, has agreed to buy 334 compression units with a combined capacity of 440,000 horsepower for approximately $360 million, while Access Midstream, one of the midstream sector’s largest MLPs, has agreed to buy 103 compression units with a combined capacity of 200,000 horsepower...
