Senate OKs New Second-In-Command Of Interior Dept.

Law360, Los Angeles (February 28, 2014, 10:07 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate on Friday confirmed Michael L. Connor, an attorney and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation commissioner who has promoted the sustainable use of water, to be second-in-command of the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Ninety-seven senators voted in favor of the former General Electric Co. employee's nomination to be the next deputy secretary of the Interior Department, with three senators not voting: Republicans Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Democrat Bill Nelson of Florida.
