Sorenson Communications Hits Ch. 11 With $1B In Debt

Law360, Wilmington (March 3, 2014, 3:54 PM EST) -- Private equity-controlled Sorenson Communications Inc., a company that provides video relay communication services for hard-of-hearing clients, and several affiliates filed for Chapter 11 protection Monday in Delaware, citing changes in federal regulatory policies that will require a restructuring of more than $1 billion in debt.

In filings before the Delaware bankruptcy court, Sorenson, which is jointly controlled by affiliates of GTCR Golder Rauner LLC and Madison Dearborn Partners LLC, listed about $645 million in assets against its roughly $1.4 billion in liabilities as of Jan. 31,...
