Carlyle To Pay $1.93B For South Korea's ADT Security

Law360, New York (March 3, 2014, 1:32 PM EST) -- The Carlyle Group said Monday that it will pay $1.93 billion in cash to buy two Korean security companies from Tyco, if approved by the end of the second quarter.

The deal — which comprises Security Services Korea Co. Ltd. and its subsidiaries, ADT Caps Co. Ltd., Capstec Co. Ltd. and ADT Security Co. — is South Korea's biggest since 2008, according Carlyle Group. The asset manager is financing the buy with debt from several Korean banks and equity from its Partners funds.
