Democratic Super PAC Challenges Pa. Campaign Finance Law

Law360, Philadelphia (March 4, 2014, 6:08 PM EST) -- A Washington, D.C.-based super PAC has challenged a Pennsylvania state law forbidding political groups from receiving corporate and labor contributions, arguing in federal court that the rule goes against the U.S. Supreme Court's Citizens United decision.

General Majority PAC, which works nationwide to elect Democratic candidates to state legislatures, said in a complaint filed last Monday that the provisions in the law preventing it from accepting the contributions and putting them toward political campaigns violates its First Amendment rights.
