FDA Seeks $229M User Fees To Implement FSMA

Law360, New York (March 4, 2014, 5:39 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has again asked for funding from new user fees to finish implementing the Food Safety Modernization Act, estimating Tuesday that the proposed fees would provide $229 million in funding.

The FDA, which last year unsuccessfully asked for similar funding, is seeking user fees expected to produce $169 million for the food import program and $60 million for the food facility registration and inspection program.
