Obama Calls For $3.4B USPTO Budget, Full Access To Fees

Law360, New York (March 4, 2014, 4:07 PM EST) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office would receive $3.44 billion in funding next year, an increase of over $400 million, and would be allowed to keep all the fees it collects under the 2015 spending plan unveiled Tuesday by President Barack Obama.

The proposal is a significant boost from the $3.02 billion the office is slated to receive for the current fiscal year under the Coordinated Appropriations Act, signed into law by Obama in January, which provides funding for the government through the end of September....
