Federal Circuit Upholds Slot Machine Patent Invalidity

Law360, New York (March 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a ruling invalidating Aristocrat Technologies Australia Pty Ltd.'s claims for a slot machine patent, finding that a lower court correctly issued a summary judgment declaring all the patent claims invalid for indefiniteness.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Thursday supported the lower court's decision to grant International Game Technology's motion for summary judgment because Aristocrat's claim construction was too general and unspecific.
