Pa. DEP Wants Sunoco Fined $2.4M Over 2008 Fuel Spill

Law360, Philadelphia (March 5, 2014, 1:38 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection sought Monday to impose a $2.4 million penalty on Sunoco Logistics Partners LP over a 2008 gasoline pipeline leak that polluted a stream in the western part of the state.

The agency asked the state Environmental Hearing Board to impose the fine, alleging that the pipeline failure, which led to the release of over 12,000 gallons of fuel, violated the Clean Streams Law.
