Hunton & Williams Accused Of Bungling Client's Insurance

Law360, Miami (March 5, 2014, 5:37 PM EST) -- Hunton & Williams LLP was sued Friday in Florida court by a medical supply company that says the firm failed to inquire whether the company had insurance coverage against a lawsuit, resulting in more than $500,000 in unreimbursed legal costs.

The negligence suit stems from Hunton & Williams' representation of plaintiff Pharma Supply Inc. in a 2008 lawsuit in North Carolina state court. In that case, the Wellington, Fla.-based company was sued by Diagnostic Devices Inc. for alleged interference with an exclusive contract between DDI and a company called TaiDoc, as well as defamation and illegal competition.
