BP Hit With Fresh Deepwater Suit Over Fla.'s Cleanup Costs

Law360, Los Angeles (March 5, 2014, 6:54 PM EST) -- The state of Florida on Wednesday launched a fresh Deepwater Horizon civil suit, telling a Florida federal court that BP PLC and others are liable for all removal costs and natural resource damages linked to the explosion and resulting oil spill.

Adding to litigation the state previously filed over the disaster, the heads of Florida's environmental agencies allege damage to hundreds of miles of beaches, marshes and wetlands, as well as to wildlife including fish, sea turtles and manatees.
