Keurig Asks Fed. Circ. For New Trial In Coffee Cup IP Fight

Law360, Washington (March 6, 2014, 3:37 PM EST) -- Keurig Inc. asked a Federal Circuit panel on Thursday to order a new trial in its pierceable coffee cup patent infringement spat with Rogers Family Co., claiming a lower court judge made inappropriate factual findings that should have been made by a jury.

Dennis Saylor IV incorrectly determined that Keurig's beverage cartridge design patent actually covered functional characteristics that were necessary to make the company's brewers produce coffee.
