Pa. Court Boots Drilling Co.'s Act 13 Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (March 7, 2014, 3:40 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court on Friday said it lacked jurisdiction over a series of suits that an oil and gas industry services provider brought against three municipalities alleging that their seismic testing ordinances violated the state’s recent high-profile legislation regulating gas drilling.

The three-judge panel agreed with the western Pennsylvania municipalities' preliminary objections to Seital Data Ltd.’s claims and ruled that the matters instead belong in the Beaver County Court of Common Pleas.
