OCC Issues Rule Conforming Bank Regulations to Basel III

Law360, Washington (March 10, 2014, 4:37 PM EDT) -- The Office of the Comptroller of Currency has issued an interim final rule revising its bank capital requirements to conform its regulations to the recently adopted Basel III accords governing national banks and federal savings associations, the agency said on Friday.

The final rule makes technical, clarifying and conforming amendments to bring OCC rules in line with the Basel III accords, the statement said. The rule also clarifies requirements for the procedures required to issue and redeem subordinated debt.
