ITC Says GPS Co. Induced Satellite-Tracking IP Infringement

Law360, New York (March 10, 2014, 2:55 PM EDT) -- Personal navigation company DeLorme InReach LLC has likely sold products that induced infringement of a satellite-tracking patent owned by BriarTek IP Inc. and should pay a recommended penalty of $637,500, a U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled Friday.

Administrative Law Judge Dee Lord issued an initial determination that DeLorme and parent company DeLorme Publishing Co. Inc. had induced infringement by selling InReach 1.5 products containing imported technology that violated BriarTek's patent.
