Ineos, Solvay Offer EU More Antitrust Fixes For $5.8B JV

Law360, New York (March 10, 2014, 8:37 PM EDT) -- Solvay SA and Ineos Group Ltd. offered additional remedies Friday in a bid to win clearance for a $5.8 billion joint venture from the European Union's antitrust regulator, about two weeks after the two companies offered to divest a series of chemical plants and other assets across Europe.

Details of the new round of commitments, aimed at easing the European Commission’s concerns over the two companies’ proposed plastics deal, were undisclosed and a spokeswoman for Solvay, Caroline Jacobs, said Monday it was too early to comment....
