Calif. District Chief Judge To Step Down End Of Year

Law360, San Diego (March 10, 2014, 10:53 PM EDT) -- U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken of Oakland said Friday that she plans to step down from her post as chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California at the end of the year and take senior status, according to a news report.

The move will allow her to lighten her caseload and open up another seat for President Barack Obama to fill, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report on Saturday.
