Indiana's $5M Liability Cap Stands In Stage Collapse Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (March 11, 2014, 9:59 PM EDT) -- An Indiana state judge ruled Monday that the state is not responsible for defending production company Mid-America Sound Corp. in a consolidated lawsuit brought by victims of a fatal stage rigging collapse at the Indiana State Fair in 2011.

Superior Court Judge Theodore Sosin, presiding in Marion County, ruled in favor of the Indiana State Fair Commission and against Mid-America, saying the state is not responsible for indemnifying or defending the company in the litigation, according to the office of Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller.
