DC Circ. Quashes EPA Ombudsman Whistleblower Suit

Law360, New York (March 14, 2014, 4:34 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Circuit on Friday refused to revive a whistleblower suit from a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency employee who was stripped of ombudsman duties after allegedly making inflammatory statements and demeaning other public officials, ruling that his claims were filed too late.

EPA program analyst Hugh Kaufman accused the agency of violating employee protection provisions in seven environmental statutes, but the appeals court said he needed to file the claims soon after he was removed from the position rather than waiting until after several failed attempts...
