Pa. AG Blasts Critics Over Dropped Philly Corruption Probe

Law360, Philadelphia (March 17, 2014, 1:40 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane said Monday that politics was not a factor in her decision not to file criminal charges against a group of largely Democratic Philadelphia-area legislators targeted in a public corruption probe started by her predecessors.

Kane said that independent evaluations of the undercover bribery sting, which reportedly targeted members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly's black caucus, concluded that a decision by her predecessors to drop more than 2,000 charges against a confidential informant in the operation for defrauding state food assistance programs...
