Micron Gets U Of Ill. Semiconductor Patents Nixed By USPTO

Law360, New York (March 17, 2014, 7:28 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office last week invalidated all the claims of three semiconductor patents owned by the University of Illinois, declaring them obvious or anticipated in an inter partes review requested by Micron Technology Inc.

Micron requested the America Invents Act reviews after the university, with which it had been an academic partner, filed suit alleging that Micron infringed the patents, which pertain to the use of deuterium in the fabrication of semiconductor devices.
