Pa. Rep. Floats Bill To Up Transparency In Power Contracts

Law360, New York (March 18, 2014, 7:35 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state legislator introduced a measure on Monday that would require greater transparency in variable-rate electricity contracts signed by consumers in the state, following a slew of reports that Pennsylvania consumers recently saw a sudden spike in their bills.

House Consumer Affairs Committee head Robert Godshall, R-Montgomery, has proposed a bill that would require variable-rate electricity suppliers to inform consumers of variable-rate pricing and would put limits on how often and how much they can increase rates for residential or small business customers.
