Bernanke Warns Of Slow Year For Economic Growth

Law360, New York (April 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The economy will not grow much, if at all, over the first half of this year and could even contract slightly, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said Wednesday.

At a hearing of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee, Bernanke testified that the economy was facing some very difficult challenges but that he remained confident about its long-term prospects.
