Fla. Senate Approves Ban On E-Cigarette Sales To Minors

Law360, Miami (March 18, 2014, 10:03 PM EDT) -- The Florida Senate on Tuesday voted unanimously to add electronic cigarettes to a statute prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to minors.

The senators voted 40-0 in favor of S.B. 224, which extends the current prohibitions on the sale of tobacco products to people under the age of 18 to electronic cigarettes.

Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto, R-Fort Myers, called it a “simple bill” that would keep e-cigarettes, which have grown in popularity in recent years, from minors.
