Nitric Acid Plant Operators Settle CAA Suit

Law360, Chicago (March 18, 2014, 8:09 PM EDT) -- Three LSB Industries Inc. units have settled with state and federal environmental regulators over alleged Clean Air Act violations at three nitric acid plants in Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma, according to documents filed in federal court on Tuesday.

The LSB subsidiaries — El Dorado Chemical Co., Cherokee Nitrogen Co. and Pryor Chemical Co. — agreed in a consent decree to pay $725,000 in fines, and update the plants to cut down on nitrogen oxide emissions.
