Fla. House Panel OKs $1M For Medical Marijuana Research

Law360, Miami (March 20, 2014, 5:36 PM EDT) -- A bill that would legalize a form of noneuphoric marijuana for medical use advanced Thursday through the Florida House Appropriations Committee, whose members threw their support behind its intent and $1 million in funding for research despite numerous policy concerns.

The panel unanimously passed HB 843, saying it was an easy decision to approval its $1 million appropriation for research on the substance cannabidiol and its effect on intractable childhood epilepsy.
