Hawaii AG Sues Plavix Makers For Deceptive Marketing

Law360, Los Angeles (March 19, 2014, 9:28 PM EDT) -- Hawaii Attorney General David M. Louie became the latest AG to sue Plavix manufacturers Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Sanofi-Aventis US LLC on claims of deceptively and unfairly labeling and marketing the blood thinner, according to a complaint filed in state court Wednesday.

Louie alleges that the companies didn't disclose that Plavix, which reaped $6.6 billion in sales in 2011, has little or no effect on 30 percent of the population, who metabolize the drug poorly due to their genetic traits or because they take other drugs....
