Pa. Lawmaker Floats Alternative To Liquor Privatization

Law360, Philadelphia (March 24, 2014, 5:41 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania Republican state representative on Thursday released an alternative to stalled plans to privatize the state’s liquor sales system that would keep its current network of state stores intact but would boost profits for the state's general fund.

The proposal unveiled by Rep. Gene DiGirolamo, R-Bucks, includes loosened restrictions on Sunday sales and out-of-state direct shipments along with an end to pricing controls to reap an estimated $185 million in added revenues.
