ITC Launches Probe Of Dentsply Lithium Silicate Imports

Law360, Los Angeles (March 21, 2014, 7:34 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Friday voted to begin an investigation into Ivoclar Vivadent AG's allegations that Dentsply International Inc. has imported certain lithium silicate materials used in dental restoration products that infringe two of its patents.

The ITC will probe Liechtenstein-based Ivoclar's claims that York, Pa.-based Dentsply and two of its subsidiaries, Dentsply Prosthetics US LLC and DeguDent GmbH, have violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing materials that infringe Ivoclar's U.S. Patent Numbers 8,047,021 and 8,444,756.
