Attys Bash Aetna's Bid For Garlock Asbestos Claimants Info

Law360, New York (March 21, 2014, 6:31 PM EDT) -- Attorneys for asbestos injury claimants in the Garlock Sealing Technologies LLC bankruptcy pressed a North Carolina bankruptcy court on Thursday not to divulge information about their clients to Aetna Inc. and Rawlings Co. LLC, saying the companies' reasons for seeking the information are illegitimate.

Aetna, an insurer, and Rawlings, a vendor to insurers, filed a motion in February for access to asbestos claimants' so-called Rule 2019 statements and exhibits, which include their names, addresses and the amount of their claim, among other information. The companies say...
