CFTC Thumps Morgan Stanley For Soybean Futures Trades

Law360, Washington (March 24, 2014, 7:28 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Monday that Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc. has agreed to pay $200,000 to settle civil allegations that it exceeded speculative position limits in soybean meal futures.

According to the regulator, Morgan Stanley's in-house accounts violated the position limits rules on Jan. 14 and 15, by holding positions on the Chicago Board of Trade that exceeded the all-months limits for contracts trading.
