DOE Allows Gas Exports From $7.5B Jordan Cove Project

Law360, Los Angeles (March 24, 2014, 6:56 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy on Monday authorized Jordan Cove Energy Project LP to export liquefied natural gas from its $7.5 billion project in Oregon to countries that don’t have a free trade agreement with the U.S.

The agency said it's still reviewing more applications for exporting the resource as it works through a pipeline of 24 would-be exporters, according to a statement released Monday. The department has approved seven such applications in recent months.
