US, Canada Antitrust Watchdogs Urge Merger Transparency

Law360, New York (March 25, 2014, 6:01 PM EDT) -- U.S. and Canadian antitrust watchdogs on Tuesday urged dealmakers to cooperate with federal agencies in merger investigations, outlining practices that can help ensure efficiency in such investigations. 

Issuing a document titled "Best Practices On Cooperation in Merger Investigations", the antitrust division of the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Canada's Competition Bureau asked merging parties to help simplify the investigative procedure by, among other things, keeping the agencies as informed as possible throughout the process.
